Text(s) for Study: John 17, John 1:14-18
Preparation for Worship:
Read John 17:22-26. (I encourage you to read the entire chapter 17 with your family. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you in all Truth.)
- God is glorified in those whom the Father has given Christ out of the world.
- Jesus talks about giving us glory. We take part in the Father’s glory when we enjoy God most; when we enjoy Him and delight in Him above all else.
Read John 1:14-18
- John addresses the glory of God in the beginning of his epistle. As you read this scripture, think back on Old Testament glimpses of glory.
- Consider God’s glory as you read the following texts with your family:
o Exodus 14:4, 17-18
o Exodus 16:7
o Exodus 24:16-17
o Exodus 16:10, 29:43
The children in Toddler rooms through Kindergarten will be studying Exodus 16:8-36.
Everyday Conversations (LOOK FOR opportunities to revisit the preached Word and the foundational truth(s) taught):
Take a walk with your families and look for God’s glory on display. Open your eyes! The heavens declare the glory of God. Look around. The skies proclaim the work of His hands. Listen closely. Day to day pours forth speech about His goodness. Be attentive. Night to night reveals knowledge. Sing a song of praise to God about the works of His hands together as a family. Worship Him in song as you look for His glory.
“God’s glory is the radiance of His holiness, the radiance of His manifold, infinitely worthy and valuable perfections.” Piper
